Who owns the booths?
Plenty of red boxes are privately owned, by a business, a landowner or someone who bought theirs years ago, and those stay with their owner. Others belong to a local authority or a charities, or to the venue they stand in, and some are to be ours.
How much does it cost?
Pricing will depend on the location and session type. Launch pricing will be announced before public access opens.
What do people record in there?
A song. A voice note to someone. A message to yourself. A memory worth keeping. You can record video as well as audio, so it can be something people watch rather than only hear. That is what the booth is for.
Can I sing karaoke in Crown Booth?
Karaoke Mode will be available in selected locations. Choose a licensed backing track, record your performance, and receive the finished audio or video file. Track availability may vary by location.
Do I need to be a musician?
No. Singers and producers use it the most, but it is built for anyone with something to say.
Who owns what I record?
You do. It lands in your account the moment you finish, and you can download it, share it or save it for later.

Crown Booth turns a familiar red telephone box into a private, studio-quality recording space. Book a session, step inside, and follow the simple instructions to record your voice, story, song, interview, or message. When you finish, your recording is securely processed and delivered digitally, ready to keep, share, or use in a creative project.
Is Crown Booth a marketplace?
Yes. Crown Booth is a multi-sided marketplace connecting people who need a place to record or meet with available booths and remote professionals.
Users can book a booth and, when needed, connect with an audio engineer, producer, vocal coach, collaborator, or remote meeting participant. Venues, property owners, councils, charities, and event partners can also make suitable spaces available through the network.

How did you come up with the idea?
The idea came from noticing that many red telephone boxes were no longer being used. I thought it would be exciting to turn them into places where people could make music and capture ideas on the go.
Traditional studios often require you to book time in hourly blocks, even when you only need a few minutes to get an idea down properly. Crown Booth is designed for those moments of inspiration, giving people an accessible place to step in, record, and keep creating without coordinating a full studio session.
Who can use Crown Booth?
Anyone who needs a private, high-quality place to record, create, communicate, or meet. This includes musicians, singers, rappers, songwriters, voice actors, podcasters, presenters, journalists, storytellers, interviewers, students, businesses, event guests, and professionals needing a quick virtual meeting, client call, interview, presentation, or remote collaboration.
Why can’t people just use their phones?
They can. Phones are useful for quick voice notes, but they often capture a reminder rather than the idea itself.
Crown Booth provides a quiet, private space with acessible recording equipment, so people can focus, perform, and capture something they are proud of without background noise, distractions, or the commitment of booking a full recording studio. It is not designed to replace your phone. It is designed to make the step beyond it easier.
Is this to replace recording studios?
Crown Booth does not replace recording studios. It makes professional recording easier to access, helping more people take the first step.
Are there accessible versions?
Yes. Crown Booth will include accessible versions, including larger, step-free booths designed for wheelchair users and people with different mobility, hearing, visual, and sensory needs.
Features may include adjustable equipment, accessible controls, and clear visual or audio guidance. Because traditional telephone boxes vary in size and access, each booth listing will clearly explain its accessibility features.
Can I have one at my hotel, venue, event or wedding?
Yes. Kiosks for permanent outdoor siting, indoor units for lobbies, terminals, lounges, shopping centres and venues, and hire for weddings, parties, festivals, events, and exhibitions.
